Women's Ministry

The women's Auxiliary of the First African Baptist Church was organized in June 1971 with about twelve dedicated and energetic women at the home of sis. Rosa G. Simmons. The officers were Sis. Rosa Simmons, president, Sis. Delphine Simmons, secretary, the late Sis. Mary Cohen, treasurer, and the late Sis. Sarah Campbell as chaplin. Sis. Rosa Simmons served as president of the Auxiliary for 25 yeas before resigning in 1996

Youth Ministry

The First African Baptist Church Youth Department was reorganized in July of 2004. Since then here are some of the activities that have taken place:

The Voices of Hope youth choir was reorganized along with a separate teen choir
Meet every Tuesday evening at 5:30pm for choir rehearsals, bible activities and arts and craft.
Worked with women's ministry prayer breakfast.
Made cards for the people on the sick and shut-in list
Appeared at many churches for youth anniversaries and youth revivals
